Party Crashers part 1: Pre-Game at the Liquor Store

by Daniel Beadle - Saturday, July 28, 2007

Five years later, Dan's black Isuzu Rodeo pulls into the parking lot of a liquor store on the edge of town. Jake emerges from the back seat, wearing a sloppy black and white suit that's slightly over-sized. Dan emerges from the passenger seat wearing a similar suit, but it looks better on him.

Jake removes his cigarette from his mouth and struggles to burp. Instead, he lets slip a fart that he casually waves away. Dan adjusts himself as he pipes up, "So tell me about this place again?"

Jake looks around, collecting his thoughts. "It's a benefit. Some kinda disease, but a lot of high profile guests. I think the mayor might show up."

"The mayor? Which mayor?"

"A mayor. What does it matter? The whole thing stinks of class."

D-Man stretches as he emerges from the driver's side. He's also wearing a black and white suit, but his looks impeccable. Of course, he's also wearing his signature aviators, which seems slightly odd considering it's well past sunset. He leans on the hood, looking at Dan. "You don't think there'll be alcohol at this place?"

"Oh there will be. This is just for the ride up."

"And how long is the ride from here?"

"Ten minutes."

"Trust me D-Man," Jake interjects, "we're gonna need plenty of liquor in us before this night is over. It'll keep you limber. God knows there's some things happening tonight that you won't be able to handle sober."

"Can the speech, Jake. The last time you gave me that one, you tried to get me in bed with you."

"Trust me, D-Man. You were only my second choice," he says, winking at Dan.

"Alright, asshole. Are we really getting into gay jokes this early in the night? Fuck. I'd swear I was hanging out with my cousin's friends. Let's just get the booze and scoot."

"Yeah buddy."

"Shut up, Jake."
